Spring Alpha Sigma Lambda Ceremony

UA Adult Focus is proud to sponsor the Gamma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda here at The University of Akron. Unique in its concept and creation since 1946, Alpha Sigma Lambda recognizes the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while managing the competing interests of home and work.
For the nontraditional student, Alpha Sigma Lambda stands as an inspiration for continuing scholastic growth. It is the oldest and largest chapter-based honor society for nontraditional students. Those invited to join have displayed their commitment to scholastic excellence by meeting membership criteria. The 2009 inductees have completed a minimum of 30 graded semester hours, maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and are among the highest 10 percent of the class.
On April 5, the following students were inducted: Patricia Davis, Anna DeFranco, Kate Frimpong, Mark Gainer, Billy Higgins, Kristin Knapp, Kristin Plesz Kuchtyak, Roxanne Might, Madelin Reinersmann and Katie Riffle.
When you see any of the above adult learners or someone from previous years wearing the gold and burgundy Alpha Sigma Lambda pin, offer your congratulations for a job well done, and set your own resolve to scholastic excellence!
