Osher Reentry Scholarships Awarded
The University of Akron is proud to be the only institution in Ohio designated this year as a recipient of the Osher Reentry Scholarship for adult students. The $50,000 award has allowed the University to grant 20 adult full-time students a scholarship in the amount of $2,500.
The Bernard Osher Foundation, located in San Francisco, California, is a philanthropic organization whose purpose is to promote the pursuit of lifelong learning. To that end, the Osher Foundation has established the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program, awarding money to 73 schools in 30 states and the District of Columbia.
A reception honoring the inaugural class was held on Saturday, October 17.
